DURHAM, NC – Security software company Knowledge Vector said that it has raised nearly $10 million in a new round of funding and has signed partnerships with Johnson Controls and other federal government contractors.

The company has developed software that gives early warning of security breaches.  One application is that it integrates with a video surveillance system to determine if two people walk through a security door, but only one card was swiped.  The system is Internet-based.

The investors in the round were a number of individuals, including Al Childers who sold his Magellan Laboratories for $200 million.
